Computer Class – Computer Basics

This class will go over the very basics of what a computer is, explain some commonly used terminology, and practice using the mouse. We will also look at how to maneuver around the desktop and change some basic settings. This class will be held Saturday, September 8 at 10:00 a.m.

Computer Class – Smartphone Basics

This beginner class will take time going over the basic hard-ware, software and apps, and how to change some settings of smartphones. Both iPhones and Androids will be covered. Bring your fully charged phone to follow along and ask questions. This class will be held on Saturday, August 11 at 10:00 a.m.

Looking for a good book to read this summer? This class will look at one of our online databases, NoveList, to help you explore what to read next. We will also look at free online resources such as Goodreads and Fantastic Fiction to get ideas for new books and new authors you might enjoy.

Saturday, April 21 at 10:00 a.m. we will be looking at and using  commonly accessed formulas and functions as well as work with tables in Excel. Basic knowledge of Excel is required.

Saturday, March 24 at 10:00 a.m. we will be going over the basics of PowerPoint, a slide-based presentation program. This class does not require you to have any prior knowledge of PowerPoint, and is ideal for people who want to learn about the capabilities of PowerPoint for business or for school.

Saturday, February 24 at 10:00 a.m. we  will be learning the basics of the popular social media website Facebook. This class will go over the basics of using Facebook. We will also look at the privacy settings such as who can see your information and how to unfollow and block people.

Computer Class – Intro to Excel

Join us on Saturday, January 27 at 10:00 a.m. to learn the basics of Microsoft Excel. Excel is a spreadsheet program that allows you to easily store, organize, and manipulate data. In this introductory class we will learn the basics of Excel such as inserting text, AutoSum and AutoFill features, sorting data, and some shortcuts to make working with your spreadsheets easier.

Computer Class – Microsoft Publisher

Saturday, December 2 at 10:00 a.m.

Learn the fundamentals of making flyers, cards, banners and more using Microsoft Publisher. We will make a Christmas/Holiday card and learn how to use and edit templates.

Computer Class – Microsoft Word

Saturdays, November 4 and 11 at 9:30 a.m.

Anne Godman will teach the basics of using Microsoft Word. The tips and topics discussed in this class will also be helpful when composing emails. Bring any questions you may have. This series is in two parts and would be most beneficial if you attended both. However, come to as many as your schedule allows.
